Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced VP, National Agent Recruitment (MidWest/West Region) to join our team. This is a high-impact sales role for an individual with existing industry relationships and a book of business. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in the Freight Agency model, including brokerage, transportation sales, or 3PL and will be responsible for driving revenue by sourcing new Agents and managing a profitable pipeline.
- Identify independent freight agents, brokers, and stand-alone carriers who qualify as good candidates to join the Bridgeway family of carriers.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals.
- Conduct initial phone conversations with pre-qualified candidates who meet basic requirements.
- Support in-house call center to close leads.
- Strengthen existing relationships with industry resources to increase yield.
- Identify new opportunities.
- Build and maintain new leads in company-provided CRM weekly.
- Regularly check in with management to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will reside in the West/MidWest Region.
- Firm understanding of the transportation industry with strong working knowledge of brokerage, operations, logistics, and transportation principles.
- Able to relate effectively to diverse cultures.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written, listening, and verbal).
- Ability to negotiate skillfully in challenging situations with both internal and external customers.
