About the Role
Nscale is at a critical inflection point of expansion, and we are seeking a strategic, high-impact Head of Federal Policy to lead our engagement with the U.S. federal government and national policy stakeholders. Reporting to the US SVP for Global Affairs, you will serve as Nscale’s primary voice in Washington, D.C., architecting the policy landscape for AI infrastructure, energy, and digital sovereignty.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a proactive federal affairs roadmap that accelerates Nscale's national growth, funding priorities, and legislative goals.
- Build and cultivate high-level partnerships across Congress, the Administration, and federal agencies, positioning Nscale as a trusted, expert partner.
- Navigate complex federal policy developments concerning AI, digital infrastructure, energy, cybersecurity, and data policy to secure policy wins.
- Develop policy positions, briefing materials, and testimony for executive leadership to leverage in public forums and strategic coalitions.
- Cross-functional partnership: coordinate closely with Legal, Communications, and Infrastructure teams to ensure a consistent, aligned national narrative and to integrate federal policy strategy with business objectives.
- Represent Nscale as the primary point of contact for federal government stakeholders, industry associations, and national think tanks.
- Lead executive-level engagement with key officials to foster long-term alignment and drive national policy goals.
About You
- Significant experience in federal government affairs, legislative affairs, or policy-related roles, with a track record of delivering tangible business results.
- Deep understanding of the U.S. federal policymaking and legislative process; you know how to operate in complex D.C. environments.
- Strong existing network across Congress, the Administration, federal agencies, and trade associations.
- Demonstrated ability to distill complex technical policy into compelling narratives for executive leadership.
- Proven track record of managing multiple, high-stakes priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Experience in technology, AI, cloud infrastructure, telecommunications, or energy is a significant advantage.
- Passionate about the potential of AI to change the world and energized by the challenge of building the physical infrastructure required to power it.
Pay
The range below reflects the base salary for the position. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as skill set, experience, education, and location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus, equity, and/or commission programs. Nscale may offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and retirement plan participation.
Salary Range: $260,000 - $440,000 USD
