About the role

Looking for an opportunity to make a difference in food systems and food policy? We’re expanding our Washington team and searching for motivated and mission-aligned advocates who can help transform the policy landscape, support American innovation and diversify protein production. We have a strong track record of real policy wins, and are looking to expand that score.

Food Solutions Action (FSA) is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit with an affiliated PAC and a sister 501(c)(3), Food Solutions, that advocates for the protein innovation industry. FSA also works closely with Americans for the Common Good (ACG), another sister organization. We focus on policies that support growth across the sector (plant-based, cultivated, precision fermentation-derived, etc.). FSA is growing and, as such, is seeking additional in-house lobbyists with House or Senate experience. The ideal candidate has strong drive, ability to execute independently, and exceptional relationship-building skills to support FSA’s priorities in Congress.

The individual in this role will be responsible for advancing FSA’s federal policy agenda in Congress as part of a team working across parties and chambers. This includes developing legislative concepts and related strategies to enact FSA priorities into law, lobbying in support of FSA’s existing legislative agenda, and coordinating coalition efforts with stakeholders at partner organizations.

The ideal candidate will be mission-driven and personally committed to FSA's work advancing pragmatic policies that support American protein innovation and economic growth across the sector.

  • Performance Tracking & Strategic Communications: Maintain comprehensive records of advocacy activities, relationship-building efforts, and policy outcomes to demonstrate impact and inform strategy refinement
  • External Partnership Management: Coordinate with contracted lobbying firms to ensure integrated, effective government relations efforts that maximize organizational influence and resources
