VP, Commercial Team Leader
Principal Objective
The primary responsibility is to manage a team of lenders and support staff ensuring that the team generates new business, effectively manages the portfolio, and adheres to credit, compliance, and operational policies.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Management/Leadership: Supervise team members to ensure adherence to bank policies and procedures. Provide leadership in establishing the bank's direction, emphasizing the Bank's Core Four and credit cultures. Approve and recommend loans within authority, ensuring they are appropriately structured and carry an acceptable level of risk. Ensure budgetary goals are met and complete assigned projects.
- New Business: Develop new business opportunities through business development efforts such as soliciting new clients, active involvement in industry organizations, and expanding the client base. Ensure all loans are properly underwritten with appropriate financial analysis and due diligence. Work with the team to increase deposits and generate non-interest fee income through the recommendation of interest rate hedging products, loan participation sales, and referrals to partner organizations.
- Portfolio Management and Credit Analysis: Maintain and service an assigned loan portfolio, oversee management of loans within the group, monitor credit quality, conduct annual credit reviews, and ensure accurate risk ratings. Track and monitor portfolio status and collect necessary data.
Job Specifications (Skills, Knowledge And Abilities Required)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- At least 10+ years of commercial lending and underwriting/portfolio management experience
- Understanding of the commercial marketplace within the Bank’s target area
- Familiarity with the Bank’s credit policy and guidelines
- Familiarity with other products and services offered by the Bank for cross-selling purposes
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Willingness to assume additional duties as needed
- Leadership experience preferred

Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required. Minimum of 10+ years of commercial lending and underwriting/portfolio management experience is expected. Familiarity with the Bank’s credit policy and guidelines, as well as understanding of the commercial marketplace within the Bank’s target area, is essential. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written capacities is required. Leadership experience is preferred.
Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
