Job Summary
The Commercial Team Lead at UMB is responsible for managing a team of professionals who develop and implement commercial and industrial solutions. This role involves shaping sales strategies, building relationships with clients, and ensuring the profitability and performance of the loan portfolio.
About the Role
As the Commercial Team Lead, you will lead a team of professionals who manage the lifecycle of commercial and industrial relationships. You will assist in establishing sales goals, service policies, and standards to enhance client satisfaction and retention. You will also play a key role in setting the sales strategy for the region and developing new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of professional sales and product specialists to shape Commercial & Industrial solutions that attract new business to UMB.
- Aid in establishing sales goals and service policies to increase client satisfaction and retention.
- Assist in setting the sales strategy for the region and developing new business opportunities.
- Engage and build relationships with your team, internal stakeholders, business owners, CFOs, CEOs, Controllers, and existing clients to help them achieve their financial goals.
- Oversee budgets, recruitment strategies for new associates, and the loan portfolio to ensure profitability and loss.
- Negotiate credit arrangements with team members to prepare credit memoranda and supporting documentation for loan committee approvals.
- Participate in community activities to promote UMB's brand and secure business.
- Maintain oversight of the commercial portfolio to ensure loans are performing according to standards.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of Commercial Banking experience.
- Bonus points for prior leadership experience and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or accounting.
