VP, Commercial Surety

For our client, we are seeking a VP, Commercial Surety to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This executive role will guide the commercial surety line with a focus on profitable growth, underwriting discipline, and strong market execution. The position will align underwriting, distribution, and business priorities while strengthening agency and broker relationships across the U.S. The leader in this role will also shape portfolio performance, talent development, and transformation efforts that improve operational effectiveness and long-term results. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $207,750 – $346,250 annually Responsibilities Provide executive leadership for the Commercial Surety line, driving profitable growth Lead alignment between underwriting, distribution, and business objectives Develop relationships with key agencies and brokers to optimize market presence Establish and maintain underwriting philosophy and governance frameworks Oversee financial objectives, focusing on premium growth and profitability Foster a high-performance culture through talent development and leadership Drive operational excellence through technology and business transformation initiatives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, or a related field; MBA preferred Minimum of 15 years in the surety bond marketplace, with leadership experience Experience with underwriting strategy, risk appetite, and portfolio management Strong agency and broker relationships across the U.S. Ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and develop talent Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage Life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage Paid time off, including a minimum of 18 days annually 401(k) with company match and pension plan Business casual attire with remote work options Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
