VP & Commercial Banker - Commercial Admin Total Bank
This position is 100% in-office at a designated WesBanco location in either Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD or Reston LPO, Reston, VA.
About the Role
Responsible for managing smaller or less complex borrowing and depository relationships with commercial clients, focusing on C&I or CRE lending. In conjunction with the Senior Commercial Banker, you will solicit new commercial clients through direct sales calls. The role involves developing community and business relationships to facilitate sales referrals to internal partners (trust, insurance, treasury management, retail, mortgage) and maintaining knowledge of local business conditions. This position also supports the Bank’s CRA lending initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Originate and manage lending and deposit relationships with less complex middle-market and larger commercial customers.
- Maintain and effectively manage an individual commercial portfolio.
- Analyze financial statements and customer profiles to support the needs of existing and potential customers.
- Collaborate with other bank departments (e.g., CRM, BBS) to manage the credit process.
- Work on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Assist the Special Asset Unit in collecting past-due loans and resolving problem credits.
- Actively participate in community and civic organizations to meet bank growth and community development goals.
- Cross-sell banking services to existing and prospective commercial customers.
- Coordinate CRA lending initiatives within the corporate lending department.
- Support the bank’s sales culture through direct and ongoing sales calls and referrals.
- Provide loan structures that meet customer needs while ensuring appropriate documentation to protect the bank.
- Adhere to bank policies and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Originate new business opportunities through outside sales calls to centers of influence and prospective customers.
- Follow up on all internal and external customer referrals.
- Support internal business units by providing quality referrals through community and business relationships.
- Manage the sales process for assigned accounts.
- Complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of related experience and/or training, including formal credit analysis and/or portfolio management.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university (preferred).
- Proficiency in bank policies and procedures, with adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Commitment to developing business relationships with commercial borrowers.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel for training, meetings, and client/prospect engagements.
- Familiarity with and ability to promote bank products and services.

Pay
The wage range for this position is $155,000 - $180,000 annually.
