VP, Advanced Planning
About the Role
This is a client-facing role serving as a financial planning and estate planning subject matter authority for Fidelity’s high net worth clients and their advisors. The Advanced Planner delivers point-in-time estate planning guidance and education or leads comprehensive financial and estate planning engagements, depending on client needs. The role is supported by a Director, Advanced Planning and an Advanced Planning Analyst, collaborating as a team to support advanced planning client engagements across a geographic region.
Work is primarily conducted remotely using video technology, with in-person meetings at investor centers across the region. The role involves collaboration within the Advanced Planning team both virtually and in-person. Travel is typically 5% to 20% of the time, depending on proximity to regional sites and investor centers. The position is remote but requires residing within commuting distance to an Investor Center or Regional Center in Tennessee, Arkansas, or Alabama.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with preferred designations: CPA, JD, M.T., LLM in taxation, CFA, or CFP®
- 13-15+ years of overall work experience, with 7+ years in trusts and estate planning, income tax planning, or succession planning within public accounting, law practice, or wealth management
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 obtained within 90 days of employment
- Expertise in estate planning, family wealth transfer planning, wills/trusts, income taxation, and trust and estate taxation
- Experience with retirement, financial, investment, and insurance planning preferred
- Experience working with business owners, start-ups, or pre-IPO companies is a plus

About the Team
The role is part of the Advanced Planning Leadership Development team, collaborating with Fidelity’s advisors and their high-net-worth clients to provide a tailored financial planning experience aligned with each client’s unique financial goals and family dynamics.
Schedule
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations may evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
