About the role
The Vice President, Advanced Planning is a client-facing role that serves as a financial planning and estate planning subject matter authority for Fidelity’s high net worth clients and their advisors. Depending on our client’s needs, the Advanced Planner can deliver point-in-time estate planning guidance and education or lead a more comprehensive financial and estate planning engagement. In addition, the role is supported by a Director, Advanced Planning and an Advanced Planning Analyst, and together as a team will support advanced planning client engagements throughout a geographic region.
Responsibilities
- Deliver point-in-time estate planning guidance and education or lead a more comprehensive financial and estate planning engagement based on client needs.
- Collaborate with the Advanced Planning team both virtually and in-person to maintain and increase our collective impact on the clients we serve.
- Use video technology to function remotely in addition to meeting clients and advisors in investor centers across the region.
- Travel is typically expected between 5% and 20% of the time, depending on physical proximity to regional sites and investor centers.
- Reside within commuting distance to an Investor Center or Regional Center in the state of Texas.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with any of the following designations preferred: CPA, JD, M.T., LLM in taxation, CFA or CFP®
- 13-15+ years overall work experience with 7+ years of trusts and estate planning, income tax planning or succession planning work experience within a public accounting, law practice, or wealth management industry environment
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 obtained within 90-days of employment
- Estate Planning, family wealth transfer planning, wills/trusts, income taxation, and trust and estate taxation knowledge (required)
- Retirement, financial, investment, and insurance planning preferred
- Experience in working with business owners, start-ups/Pre IPO companies a plus
- Works independently and able to lead an assigned territory to drive High Net Worth client engagements
- Effectively coaches, develops, and applies junior team members
- Thrive in a team environment to provide an exceptional client planning experience
- Communicates complex subjects clearly and effectively
- Possesses a solution-oriented, client-first work ethic
- Works independently, balances tasks, and prioritizes work to maintain efficiency
