VP, Advanced Planning
About the role
The Vice President, Advanced Planning is a client-facing role that serves as a financial planning and estate planning subject matter authority for Fidelity’s high net worth clients and their advisors. Depending on our client’s needs, the Advanced Planner can deliver point-in-time estate planning guidance and education or lead a more comprehensive financial and estate planning engagement. In addition, the role is supported by a Director, Advanced Planning and an Advanced Planning Analyst, and together as a team will support advanced planning client engagements throughout a geographic region.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a financial planning and estate planning subject matter authority for Fidelity’s high net worth clients and their advisors.
- Deliver point-in-time estate planning guidance and education or lead a more comprehensive financial and estate planning engagement, depending on the client's needs.
- Collaborate with the Director, Advanced Planning and Advanced Planning Analyst to support advanced planning client engagements throughout a geographic region.
- Utilize video technology to function remotely in addition to meeting clients and advisors in investor centers across the region.
- Collaborate within the Advanced Planning team both virtually and in-person to maintain and increase our collective impact on the clients we serve.
- Travel is typically expected between 5% and 20% of the time, depending on physical proximity to regional sites and investor centers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with any of the following designations preferred: CPA, JD, M.T., LLM in taxation, CFA or CFP®
- 13-15+ years overall work experience with 7+ years of trusts and estate planning, income tax planning or succession planning work experience within a public accounting, law practice, or wealth management industry environment
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 obtained within 90-days of employment
- Estate Planning, family wealth transfer planning, wills/trusts, income taxation, and trust and estate taxation knowledge (required)
- Retirement, financial, investment, and insurance planning preferred
- Experience in working with business owners, start-ups/Pre IPO companies a plus

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $118,000-226,000 USD per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
Schedule
The role is remote but does require residing within commuting distance to an Investor Center or Regional Center in the states of MA or RI.
