Volunteer: YTNRI Employer Partnership Pipeline
About the Opportunity
This volunteer role supports Taproot Foundation’s nonprofit initiative to create social change through pro bono connections. The volunteer will help develop an employer partnership strategy and pipeline that connects YTNRI youth (ages 14–24) to career exploration, job-shadowing, paid work-based learning, internships, and potential summer employment opportunities.
The goal is to establish a clear pathway from YTNRI’s Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 workforce programs to summer 2027 employment, moving beyond workforce training to create meaningful connections between youth and employers. The resulting employer pipeline will strengthen YTNRI’s programs and prepare youth for summer 2027 employment.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize potential employer partners for youth career opportunities.
- Develop an employer outreach strategy, partnership materials, and engagement process.
- Create a framework for matching youth skills and interests with employer opportunities.
- Collaborate with YTNRI to implement the partnership strategy using provided program materials, partner lists, youth goals, and existing outreach resources.
About YOUTH Thrive Network of Rhode Island (YTNRI)
YTNRI’s mission is to create pathways that help young people—especially those from marginalized and underserved communities—build confidence, achieve economic independence, and develop meaningful roles in society. The organization equips youth with practical skills and personal development tools to thrive in school, work, and life.
YTNRI has identified potential workforce and community partners and begun initial outreach. The organization runs a Fall 2026 workforce program and is planning a Spring 2027 continuation to prepare youth for summer employment.
