Volunteer Warehouse Layout & Organization Coordinator

About the role

The LoopRoots Foundation is seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented volunteer to help plan, organize, and set up a new food storage and distribution space in the Phoenix area. The volunteer will determine the best placement for shelving, refrigerators, freezers, food‑preparation equipment, storage areas, packaging supplies, receiving zones, order staging, and other warehouse equipment so the space is organized, functional, safe, and easy for staff and volunteers to use.

Responsibilities

• Help plan shelving and storage locations
• Recommend placement of refrigerators, freezers and appliances
• Organize dry goods and food inventory areas
• Create efficient receiving and order‑pickup workflows
• Help designate preparation and packaging areas
• Recommend labeling and storage systems
• Assist with measurements and space planning
• Help coordinate the physical setup of the warehouse

Requirements

Experience with warehouse organization, retail or grocery setup, commercial kitchens, food‑service operations, inventory storage, interior space planning, facilities, logistics, or a related area.
