Volunteer Technology Support — Computer & Printer Setup

About the role

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to sponsoring free education and community services, offering programs in computer literacy, English and career training, and providing advocacy for individual rights. As a small, community‑based nonprofit, we seek a computer‑savvy volunteer or IT‑minded individual to help troubleshoot our office computer, Wi‑Fi, and printer setup.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose why the Acer PC cannot detect the building’s Wi‑Fi network and restore a stable connection.
• Get the HP 9010 all‑in‑one printer working with the computer (wired or wireless).
• Enable mobile printing from phones to the printer.
• Check for obvious updates, settings, or connectivity issues.
• Recommend a simple, reliable setup for the office (including optional wired computer‑printer connection).
• (Optional) Assess and improve the computer’s performance if time permits.

Requirements

• Basic troubleshooting skills for Windows PCs, Wi‑Fi networks, and HP printers.
• Ability to recommend and implement the simplest, most reliable solution.
• Willingness to volunteer time for a small community‑based nonprofit.
• Optional: knowledge of PC performance optimization.
