Chasing the Rainbows mission
Chasing the Rainbows transforms mental health by providing comprehensive, trauma-informed, completely free support to families navigating infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, and all pregnancy and infant loss. The organization believes no one should grieve alone and no family should ever receive a bill for healing.
Every year, over 1 million families in the United States experience pregnancy loss or infant loss—yet most suffer in devastating isolation, unable to access the mental health support and community they desperately need. Chasing the Rainbows closes that gap by offering:
- 19 free virtual support groups weekly, including specialized groups for miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, infertility, parenting after loss, and partner grief, led by trained facilitators with lived experience.
- In-person support groups for local community connections in a safe, trauma-informed environment.
- Free peer mentorship with one-on-one matching to mentors who have walked a similar loss journey.
- Free trauma-informed therapy with licensed mental health professionals specializing in pregnancy loss and grief, with no insurance, copays, or hidden fees.
- A private online chat community moderated and available 24/7 for sharing, questions, and connection.
- Free yoga, meditation, and breathwork sessions designed specifically for pregnancy and infant loss.
- Care packages and guided journals delivered to families in need, including comfort items and healing prompts.
- Funeral and memorialization assistance to ensure dignity and remembrance are never denied due to finances.
- Comprehensive support resources including educational materials for grief, trauma, and healing.
- The “Cry It Out Loud” podcast featuring raw conversations about pregnancy loss and grief with families and experts.
- CME-accredited education for doctors, nurses, and healthcare providers to build a more compassionate medical culture around pregnancy loss.
The problem we solve
The Hidden Crisis: 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss—21,000 stillbirths and 24,000 infant losses annually in the United States alone, affecting over 1 million families each year. Yet pregnancy and infant loss remain among the most under-discussed, under-resourced health crises in America.
The Isolation: Most grieving families are alone. They don’t know where to turn, can’t afford therapy, and don’t know others who have experienced similar loss. The grief is compounded by isolation, stigma, and the belief that they’re the only ones.
The Cost: For families already devastated by loss, adding financial burdens for therapy, counseling, funeral costs, and support services is impossible. Mental health care, funerals, and community support are expensive—leaving families to grieve silently without help or hope.
The Gap: No other nonprofit provides the breadth and depth of free, comprehensive support that pregnancy and infant loss families need. Chasing the Rainbows fills that gap completely—removing every barrier to healing so no family grieves alone and no family pays to heal.
