About the role

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. American Civics Snapshots is dedicated to enhancing civic understanding through digital media. We focus on non-partisan approaches to promoting knowledge in the public. Our streaming content enriches awareness in history, economics, and civic processes, especially for adult learners across the United States. We have identified several potential open grant opportunities to pursue and need pro bono support to move our nonprofit project from concept into submitted applications, including letters of inquiry and full application drafts. We have data and available documents to support grant applications, but we require experienced grant experts to make sure that our applications are strong and stand out. Our grant applications are a key part of our Phase 1 work, but we have as of yet been unsuccessful in securing enough grant money to support our work while we build a donor and sponsor base.

Responsibilities

  • Identify 1-2 open grant opportunities with high probability of acceptance, appropriate to our project and deliver a prioritized list of those opportunities.
  • Collaborate with our team to draft 1–2 Letters of Inquiry ready for submission.
  • Collaborate with our team to draft full grant application documents for the selected opportunities, producing application-ready narratives and any requested attachments.

Requirements

Volunteer with Grant Writing expertise; experienced grant experts able to ensure applications are strong and stand out.
