This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. We have established the gep Magazine program framework, developmental goals, challenge territories, incentive model, pilot structure, and several sample challenge concepts, but the curriculum and individual challenges are still being developed. We need expert developmental guidance to ensure each challenge and the overall framework are developmentally appropriate for children ages 8–17, emotionally safe, scaffolded for progression across age ranges, aligned with incentives and rewards, and informed by trauma-aware practices. Existing materials include a detailed pilot program packet, several developed sample challenges, and the public program webpage; we want to strengthen the program as it is developed and establish reusable developmental guidance for future materials. We are looking for a volunteer with expertise in child/youth development, child psychology, education, or trauma-informed practice to conduct a developmental review of the gep Magazine framework and an initial batch of challenge drafts. The volunteer will: Review the current gep Magazine developmental framework to provide written feedback on whether the program's structure supports the intended outcomes: identity, health, competence, connection & purpose, with specific recommendations for adjustments where appropriate. Review an initial batch of approx. 15 gep Magazine challenge drafts and provide documented feedback addressing developmental appropriateness across ages 8–17, emotional safety, progression & scaffolding, incentives & rewards, and trauma-informed considerations. Provide a concise set of reusable recommendations or review criteria that our team can apply when developing future challenges. golden eyes project Mission: golden eyes project (gep) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit harnessing the power of art & design to raise funds, increase awareness & uplift children around the world.
