About the Role

The Volunteer Coordinator will recruit, onboard, organize, and encourage volunteers who serve in various areas of the ministry. This individual will play a key role in creating a positive volunteer experience while ensuring volunteers are equipped, connected, and aligned with the mission and values of Sync with God. This position is ideal for someone with strong people skills, organizational ability, and a heart for ministry and discipleship.

Time commitment: 5-10 hours per week. Remote (U.S.-based preferred).

Sync with God is a discipleship movement dedicated to helping people develop a daily, interactive relationship with God through Scripture, prayer, listening, and obedience. Through coaching, mentoring, and digital resources, we equip individuals and ministry leaders to grow in spiritual maturity and help others do the same. We believe spiritual transformation happens best in community and are seeking a passionate Volunteer Coordinator to help build and support a thriving volunteer team that advances our mission.

Responsibilities

• Volunteer Recruitment
  • Assist in recruiting volunteers through online platforms, churches, ministry networks, and social media.
  • Respond to volunteer inquiries and schedule introductory conversations.
  • Help match volunteers with opportunities that fit their gifts, interests, and availability.
• Volunteer Onboarding and Training
  • Coordinate orientation and onboarding processes for new volunteers.
  • Maintain volunteer records and contact information.
  • Ensure volunteers understand the mission, vision, and expectations of Sync with God.
  • Provide resources and support to help volunteers succeed.
• Volunteer Engagement and Communication
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for volunteers.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication through email, meetings, and online platforms.
  • Encourage volunteer participation and foster a sense of community.
  • Recognize and celebrate volunteer contributions.
• Administrative Support
  • Track volunteer involvement, assignments, and service hours.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating volunteer activities.
  • Support ministry leaders in identifying volunteer needs.
  • Help develop and improve volunteer systems and processes.

Qualifications

• Passion for Christian discipleship and spiritual formation.
• Personal commitment to growing in relationship with God.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and follow-through abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Experience working with volunteers, churches, ministries, or nonprofit organizations is helpful but not required.
• Comfortable using email, Zoom, Google Workspace, and basic online collaboration tools.
