Volunteer Assistant Coach - Cheerleading (Football)

About the role

The position supports the head coach in all areas of team management and assists with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all team activities
• Supervise games and training sessions
• Aid in recruitment
• Maintain records
• Make travel arrangements
• Teach fundamental sports skills
• Promote values of responsibility and commitment
• Encourage parent involvement
• Provide a safe and fun environment
• Follow association and league rules
• Attend meetings and functions
• Build a positive team environment
• Organize travel arrangements
• Facilitate and supervise training sessions
• Organize sports events
• Prepare and maintain training equipment and facilities
• Assist with student recruitment
• Monitor and evaluate team performance
• Keep records of students, training sessions, games, performance statistics, and equipment

Requirements

• Must be fully vaccinated and able to provide proof
• Passion for youth development
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Patient and understanding
• Effective working relationships with other employees
• Tact and courtesy in dealing with the public
• Analyzing and evaluating procedures and work processes
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
• Independent judgment in applying guidelines and procedures
• Use of MS Office Suite and knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures
• Moderate physical activity required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous youth coaching or instructional experience preferred
• Complete required training and obtain coach certification
• First Aid and/or CPR certification preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience in diverse communities and establishing cooperative working relationships
• Extensive hours and weekend availability required
