Volo Kids - PT Nonprofit Accountant
Volo Kids Foundation provides free organized sports programs to kids in Baltimore, Boston, Denver, New York, San Diego, San Francisco and Washington, DC. Our programs remove barriers to athletic participation such as gender, skill, and financial resources while bringing different communities together. Founded and headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland in 2015, Volo Kids is a community-based organization working to use the power of play to build communities of active, resilient, and confident kids. Since its inception, Volo Kids has engaged over 22,000 kids nationwide. Our sports programs are powered by over 3,000 volunteers across the country.
About the role
In this part-time role (10-15 hours per week), you will serve as a member of the Volo Kids Foundation team. The incoming accountant will prioritize business-wide success by maintaining financial operations, supporting payroll and monthly reporting processes, and leading execution of our annual financial statement audit and tax filings.
Responsibilities
- Utilize financial & accounting platforms, including Quickbooks, Stripe, and Bill.com
- Process & monitor AP / AR
- Process payroll & reporting for part-time and full-time employees and outside contractors
- Maintain compliance with City / State / Federal legal & business registrations
- Prepare monthly reconciliation and reporting documents
- Facilitate annual financial audit and 990 tax filings in collaboration with Foundation leadership and an outside audit firm
- Oversee and prepare income statements
- Provide any needed financial paperwork for grant and funding efforts, including expenditure reports and month/year end close documentation
