VMI Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Covers coordination of the VMI program, maintaining inventory levels, and promoting customer service.
• Coordinates VMI Warehouse, job boxes, job trailers, and vending machines.
• Performs SAP functions to ensure efficient warehouse and delivery operations.
• Communicates with internal and external customers on orders, inventory, and deliveries.
• Works closely with Border States’ sales and marketing staff to meet and exceed sales and gross profit objectives.
• Handles order entry, expediting, pricing, returns, and follow-up on customer inquiries.
• Provides timely follow-up on customer technical inquiries and requests.
• Participates in marketing and selling Border States’ products and services.
• Provides input on product evaluations, code descriptions, inventory management, and pricing development.
• Maintains Open Order Reports, Billing Block Reports, and other reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a two-year business/trade degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of prior warehouse distribution and/or city desk experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of electrical products or systems preferred.
• A valid driver’s license may be required depending on job duties.
• Prior experience operating a forklift is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English required.
• Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), internet, email, SAP software SupplyTrax and Secura Stock software preferred.

• Ability to effectively plan and organize.
• Excellent customer service skills including being competent, accurate, responsive, and engaged.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry requirements (weight and frequency): occasionally up to 101+ lbs.
• Sitting, standing, walking, bending/stooping, reaching, crouching/squatting, climbing/walking stairs, pushing/pulling, handling, fingering, talking, driving, desk work, using tools, hearing, exposure to adverse weather & temperature conditions, traveling.
