Position Details

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at The University of Toledo invites applications for a visiting assistant professor position which will start in August 2026 and may be renewed for up to three (3) full academic years.

Responsibilities

  • Teach upper-level applied mathematics courses
  • Teach foundational undergraduate mathematics courses that support programs in mathematics, science, education, and engineering
  • Teach courses such as calculus, linear algebra, numerical analysis, discrete probability, mathematical modeling, and related applied mathematics courses
  • Expected instructional assignment is between 24 and 30 credit hours per academic year

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field
  • Prior university-level teaching experience and demonstrated ability to teach applied mathematics courses
  • Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to support students with varied preparation levels
