Visiting Assistant Professor, Creative Writing

About the role

The Department of English is seeking a 9-month, non-tenure earning, Visiting Assistant Professor of Creative Writing. Position responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load or its equivalent, and service. Supervisor: This position will report to the Department Chair.

Responsibilities

• Teach four courses per semester or its equivalent
• Plan and prepare curriculum
• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and activities
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Awarded a Master of Arts in English, or comparable graduate degree, by the start date of employment
• Teaching experience at the university level, or equivalent experience preparing curriculum and planning

• Preferred qualifications include:
• Candidates must have teaching experience at the university level, or equivalent experience preparing curriculum and planning

Skills

• Ability to teach a variety of creative writing courses
• Experience with digital humanities and/or film studies

The Department of English at the University of North Florida offers courses in Composition and Rhetoric, Creative Writing, Digital Humanities, Film, Literature, Professional Writing, and Theater.
