Videographer
About the role
This role involves capturing two live performances of a community theater production at the Miles Memorial Playhouse in Santa Monica. The videographer will be responsible for recording both the 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. shows using a two-camera setup: one wide-angle camera to cover the full stage and a second camera positioned for close-up shots during key scenes. High-quality audio capture, ideally via a board feed, is required to ensure clear sound throughout the performances. The project also includes delivering a simple edited archival video that combines footage from both cameras, as well as a few short clips suitable for social media sharing. The final deliverables are expected within two weeks following the event.
Responsibilities
- Continuous video recording of both performances using two cameras (wide and close-up)
- Clean audio recording, preferably from the venue’s board feed
- Edited archival video combining footage from both cameras
- A selection of short video clips optimized for social media
- Timely delivery of all final assets within two weeks post-event
Requirements
- Proven experience filming live theater or stage performances
- Proficiency with multi-camera setups and audio capture techniques
- Ability to work independently and manage equipment on-site
- Strong video editing skills for assembling archival footage and creating social media clips
- Reliable access to professional video and audio equipment
- Availability for on-site work in Santa Monica on the specified date
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines
