Video Production Intern

Two Video Production Intern positions available, reporting to the Communications team.

About the role

Coordinate and produce audio/video programming for social media and other platforms. Projects include video production, photography, and graphic design. Interns will experience the full video production process, learn about City departments, and support marketing efforts. Work may involve contact with local elected officials, city administrators, visitors, businesses, and residents; professionalism and appropriate dress are expected.

Responsibilities

• Create video productions to prepare and present general informational/promotional materials involving the City and community.
• Script and storyboard projects in collaboration with the Communications team and/or programs/departments.
• Photograph events, programs, and features throughout the City.
• Understand and execute all phases of video production: shooting, editing, graphics, and distribution.
• Film video for short-form and long-form formats.
• Operate camera, audio, and lighting equipment.
• Edit and produce video formatted for various platforms.
• Communicate official plans, policies, and procedures to staff and the general public.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate student at a college or university.
• Background in video production.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic proficiency with office computers and related software.
• Valid Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
• Availability to attend some after-hours or weekend events.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
• Beginner knowledge of camera functionality.
