Lead and manage the global Supplier Quality department for one of the world’s leading manufacturers and marketers of quality skin care, makeup, fragrance, and hair care products. The company’s portfolio includes luxury and prestige brands such as Estée Lauder, Clinique, M·A·C, La Mer, Bobbi Brown, Aveda, Jo Malone London, Tom Ford, Too Faced, Dr.Jart+, and others sold in approximately 150 countries and territories.

About the role

Accountable for ensuring supplier products (raw materials, components, finished goods) meet the Estée Lauder Quality System and approved standards. Responsible for evaluating and monitoring supplier quality performance, implementing corrective actions, and improving supplier capabilities. Sets supplier quality strategy, budgets, improvement initiatives, and organizational structure to achieve global quality objectives and long-term growth plans with suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy for the Supplier Quality department, identify key initiatives, and ensure resources and organizational structure are in place globally to operationalize successfully (10%).
  • Establish and monitor the global Supplier Quality budget in alignment with fiscal-year strategy and operational needs (5%).
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate departmental and supplier performance against KPIs, metrics, scorecards, and budget to prioritize resources and ensure execution excellence (15%).
  • Prioritize and oversee rapid, effective resolution of supplier issues while championing open communication, transparency, and collaboration to inspire a culture of quality (20%).
  • Ensure an effective risk-based supplier qualification, auditing, monitoring, and CAPA program in collaboration with Auditing and Global Supplier Relations (20%).
  • Identify improvement needs, establish clear project charters, and provide leadership to drive successful completion of improvement projects with cross-functional alignment (20%).
  • Foster employee growth through development, recognition, and engagement by addressing competency gaps, leveraging team strengths, and celebrating successes (10%).

Requirements

  • 12–15 years of experience in leadership roles within a global consumer goods or pharmaceutical company.
  • Experience managing a global team, coaching, and developing talent to build a strong bench.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple change projects and challenge the status quo.
  • Experience developing strategy and ensuring budgetary alignment.
  • Potential to advance to the next leadership level or transition into another function.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information clearly and cascade strategy within the team.
  • Collaborative team player with high motivation to drive impact.
  • Learning agility to adapt quickly to changing demands.
  • Thorough knowledge of Quality Management Systems and applied statistics.
  • Deep technical insight into production processes.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent, with extensive knowledge of lean techniques.
  • Project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Auditing experience is a plus.

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $228,250 to $388,550, depending on experience, skills, education, and budget. Geographic location may also affect the salary range.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with potential for overachievement based on performance and company results, as well as the share incentive plan.
