About the role
As Vice President, Solution Consulting & Value Engineering, you will lead the strategy, development, and execution of Duck Creek's global Solution Consulting and Value Engineering functions. Working closely with Sales Leadership and executive stakeholders, you'll define how Duck Creek communicates business value to customers, strengthen pre-sales methodology, improve demonstration excellence, and ensure teams are equipped to deliver world-class customer engagements. This highly visible leadership role influences go-to-market strategy, improves sales effectiveness, develops high-performing teams, and helps customers understand the measurable value Duck Creek delivers.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the global Solution Consulting & Value Engineering strategy.
- Partner with Sales Leadership to improve sales effectiveness, increase productivity, and maximize win rates.
- Craft and execute the strategy for the Value Practice, including adoption of the Value Practice Framework and ROI calculator creation and usage.
- Participate in strategic sales initiatives, providing leadership, coaching, and guidance throughout the sales cycle.
- Oversee the sales intake process to ensure resources are aligned to qualified opportunities.
- Team Leadership & Enablement
- Lead, coach, and develop high-performing Solution Consulting, Value Engineering, and Proposal Management teams.
- Match subject matter experts to strategic sales opportunities.
- Drive cross-training initiatives across the Solutions organization to broaden capability and break down silos.
- Develop certification programs, onboarding, and regional training for both Sales and Pre-Sales teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Operational Excellence
- Refine and unify demonstration messaging to ensure every customer interaction clearly communicates business value.
- Establish best practices across the Solutions organization, driving consistency and accountability.
- Audit opportunity plans to ensure alignment with sales best practices.
- Execute strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency and increase productivity.
- Automate reporting and performance metrics to support leadership decision-making across North America.
- Manage the RFX/Proposal team to deliver compelling, high-quality sales proposals.
- Contribute to the success of all workstreams within the Value Engineering ecosystem by delivering high-quality outputs.
Requirements
- Proven track record in Solution Consulting, Value Engineering, or implementing enterprise software solutions at a senior/VP level, with 7+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance products and how technology enables digital transformation.
- Experience developing strategies that influence executive leadership and organizational direction.
- Demonstrated success scaling, developing, and leading Sales, Pre-Sales, and Solution Consulting teams in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
- Significant experience in P&C consulting, executive value selling, value engineering, or corporate strategy and transformation.
- Excellent executive communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- Travel: 10–25%.
- Legally authorized to work in the country where the role is based.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous consulting experience or involvement in implementing core software platforms within the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
Pay
Actual compensation will depend on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and location.
- Expected U.S. Base Salary Ranges:
- $214,600–$306,500 – Boston, New York City–Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and Washington, DC metropolitan areas.
- $204,500–$292,100 – Chicago, Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
- $194,300–$277,600 – Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Oregon, and Wisconsin.
- $172,100–$268,900 – All other U.S. locations.
- This role is eligible for an annual bonus of up to 26% of base salary (subject to plan terms and eligibility).
- Quarterly incentive compensation of up to 10% through the Solution Consulting Incentive Compensation Plan (SCICP).
