Vice President, Research Integrity & Compliance

About the role

The Vice President partners with executive leadership to develop and evaluate healthcare compliance controls and programs across UCI Health and the UC Irvine School of Medicine. Responsibilities include oversight of compliance, research compliance, and privacy compliance for hospitals, clinics, and UCI clinical affiliates, as well as academic clinical care faculty and privacy compliance oversight.

Responsibilities

• Provide healthcare and health research compliance and privacy oversight for hospitals, clinics, and UCI clinical affiliates
• Oversee compliance and privacy oversight for academic clinical care faculty
• Assist management with operational application of regulations, accepted compliance principles, and industry trends
• Create and implement compliance and privacy programs
• Manage reporting systems and controls
• Develop and manage corporate compliance and privacy plans
• Communicate compliance and privacy aspects to external community

Requirements

• Strong planning, financial, and analytical skills
• Executive leadership experience (Director or higher)
• Experience in an inpatient healthcare setting
• Knowledge of federal and state health care services regulations
• Experience in academic medicine models and community models of health care delivery
• Expertise in all aspects of assigned functions
• Master’s degree in health care related field
• Knowledge of University, academic medical center, and community health care delivery organizations
• CHC, CHC-F, and CHRC certification preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Experience in compliance and privacy roles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
