About the role

We’re hiring a Vice President, Compliance & Ethics (US) to lead Nscale’s U.S. compliance program and translate our global ethics and compliance framework into practical, business-ready processes for a rapidly growing U.S. organization.

This role sits within Legal & Compliance and reports to the SVP, Head of Global Compliance & Ethics in the UK, while partnering closely with the U.S. General Counsel on U.S. legal, regulatory, governance, and investigations matters. You’ll work across Legal, Internal Audit, Communications, Government Affairs, and regional compliance counterparts in the UK, EMEA, and APAC to drive a consistent, scalable program.

What you'll be doing

  • U.S. Compliance Program Leadership:
    • Lead and scale the U.S. compliance program in line with Nscale’s global ethics and compliance framework.
    • Translate global requirements into practical processes that support a fast-moving U.S. business.
    • Set program priorities based on risk, business needs, and evolving regulatory expectations.
    • Build scalable compliance infrastructure that enables consistent execution across the U.S. organization.
  • Securities Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Own U.S. securities compliance, including insider trading policies, MNPI controls, pre-clearance workflows, restricted lists, and beneficial ownership reporting.
    • Lead U.S. compliance risk assessments and turn findings into mitigation plans and control enhancements.
    • Establish escalation pathways and governance processes for key compliance risks.
    • Monitor emerging risks and prioritize actions to address them effectively.
  • Investigations, Regulatory Matters & Governance:
    • Partner closely with the U.S. General Counsel and Legal colleagues on regulatory matters, investigations, issue management, and remediation.
    • Support governance processes and compliance risk escalation across the U.S. business.
    • Guide responses to conduct-related issues with sound judgment and a practical, business-oriented approach.
    • Cookordination on matters that require alignment between legal, compliance, and senior stakeholders.
  • Culture, Training & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Drive compliance culture adoption through leadership engagement, targeted communications, and practical guidance.
    • Lead U.S.-facing training and awareness initiatives across Speak Up, non-retaliation, conflicts of interest, securities compliance, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, and other priority risk areas.
    • Work with Communications and Government Affairs to support consistent messaging, stakeholder engagement, and policy positioning.
    • Reinforce ethical decision-making across the organization through visible and practical leadership.
  • Conflicts, Reporting & Team Leadership:
    • Lead conflicts of interest and related party disclosure processes, including certification, review, mitigation, escalation, and reporting.
    • Build metrics, dashboards, and reporting cadences that provide visibility into program health, emerging risks, and execution priorities.
    • Report program insights to the SVP, Head of Global Compliance & Ethics, Legal, Internal Audit, and other senior stakeholders.
    • Lead and develop the Manager / Director, Operational Compliance, U.S. while coordinating closely with compliance counterparts across the UK, EMEA, and APAC.

About You

  • 12+ years of compliance experience, with U.S. sanctions / export control fluency
  • Strong experience building and operating a U.S. compliance program at scale
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. securities compliance, including insider trading policies, MNPI controls, pre-clearance workflows, restricted lists, and beneficial ownership reporting
  • Proven ability to operate as a strong generalist across operational, commercial, and conduct-related issues
  • Strong investigations track record
  • Experience translating compliance frameworks into practical, business-ready processes
  • Ability to advise senior stakeholders while also driving hands-on execution
  • Strong judgment and the ability to identify regulatory and reputational risk in evolving business contexts
  • Experience leading compliance training, communications, and culture-building initiatives
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Legal, Internal Audit, Communications, Government Affairs, and international compliance teams

Salary Range

  • $240,000 - $290,000 USD
