Ascension Wisconsin is looking for a Vice President of Safety and Quality to join their team in the Quality Management department, located in Glendale, WI. This role is eligible for an annual bonus incentive.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive quality and patient safety program aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Lead system-wide initiatives to improve clinical outcomes, reduce medical errors, and enhance patient experience.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for quality and safety across all facilities.
  • Direct the development and implementation of evidence-based infection prevention practices across the system.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders to reduce healthcare-associated infections and improve patient outcomes.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Lead preparation for regulatory surveys and accreditation visits.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
  • Provide visionary leadership in developing and executing strategies to continuously improve quality, safety, and patient outcomes.
  • Implement proactive strategic and tactical approach to quality, patient safety, regulatory, and infection prevention.
  • Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and evidence-based practice throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align quality and safety initiatives with overall organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality and safety data to drive performance improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a robust system for tracking and trending quality metrics, patient safety events, and regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities for improvement and measure the effectiveness of interventions.

Requirements

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration: Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board (preferred).
  • Education: Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • RN, MSN, PharmD, MD, PhD in a healthcare-related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance within a large healthcare system.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality improvement methodologies, patient safety principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical processes, and evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary teams in a complex healthcare environment.
