Vice President, Operations
Accountabilities
The Vice President, Operations will provide executive-level leadership across operational functions, ensuring effective support systems, strong team performance, and continuous improvement. This role will oversee operational strategy, develop high-performing teams, and partner with stakeholders to strengthen organizational effectiveness.
Lead the development and execution of network-wide operational strategies that improve service delivery, efficiency, and organizational performance.
Oversee multiple operational teams, including school operations support, facilities, and business operations, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
Build scalable systems, processes, and frameworks that reduce operational variability and improve consistency across locations.
Partner with senior leaders and school teams to identify challenges, develop solutions, and drive measurable improvements.
Coach and develop operational leaders, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
Establish clear performance expectations, monitor key operational metrics, and use data to guide decision-making.
Lead business operations initiatives, including attendance strategies, nutrition programs, safety systems, health operations, compliance processes, and risk management.
Provide strategic oversight of facilities operations, maintenance programs, vendor relationships, capital projects, and long-term asset planning.
Improve school operational performance by improving coaching models, professional development, and operational resources.
Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure teams work effectively toward shared organizational goals.
Manage budgets, resources, and operational investments while maintaining strong fiscal stewardship.
Support organizational change initiatives and help build a culture focused on service, innovation, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- An experienced operational leader with a strong background in education, public-sector operations, or similarly complex organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, manage transformation, and translate strategy into effective execution.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive professional experience in public education, charter schools, education management organizations, public administration, universities, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience within a school environment, including experience in school operations or a comparable role.
- Proven success leading large-scale, cross-functional operational teams and complex organizational initiatives.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders, school teams, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience developing high-performing teams through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Strong systems-thinking abilities with experience using data to create strategies and improve outcomes.
- Experience managing organizational change, compliance requirements, audits, risk assessments, or operational improvement initiatives.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex problems, and build effective relationships across diverse teams.
- Knowledge of K-12 education environments and school operations is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to create alignment across a multi-layered organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google-based productivity tools.

- A competitive salary range of $130,000-$173,500 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
