Vice President, Operations
About the role
The Vice President, Operations role is responsible for leading all Operations areas for Rolls-Royce Solutions in Aiken, South Carolina. This role oversees production, maintenance, and facility management, while coordinating across Quality, Logistics, and Reman/Overhaul to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Operations function for Rolls-Royce Solutions in Aiken, with accountability for production, maintenance, facility management, and the safe, efficient delivery of site performance commitments.
- Serve as Site Lead for the Aiken location, representing Rolls-Royce externally and aligning local functions through visible leadership, town halls, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Set and execute the Aiken Operations strategy in line with business objectives, agreed budgets, performance plans, and timescales, ensuring the site is positioned for resilient growth.
- Cross-functional delivery with Quality, Logistics, Reman/Overhaul, Purchasing, and other key partners to achieve operational targets for cost, efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Drive operational excellence by strengthening process effectiveness, performance measurement, and the deployment of Lean business methods across Operations.
- Partner with headquarters in Germany and global functional leaders to align standardized tooling, manufacturing procedures, maintenance cycles, production planning, quality standards, supplier audit requirements, and environmental obligations.
- Lead, develop, and empower direct reporting teams while managing departmental expenditure, resources, risks, opportunities, and development plans within agreed governance and reporting frameworks.
- Act as the accountable leader for Health, Safety and Environmental management and compliance at the Aiken site, while promoting product integrity, quality system discipline, and a culture that lives the letter and spirit of the Rolls-Royce Integrity Code.
Requirements
- Associate degree with 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, OR Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, OR JD/PhD with 3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, OR 12+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in lieu of a degree.
- Has company-wide outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures and ways of working, including German business culture.
- Understanding/knowledge of multiple disciplines demonstrating breadth of experience.
- Proven track record delivering improved operational performance in both favorable and unfavorable conditions, utilizing cross-functional teams.
- Experience deploying continuous improvement methodologies such as lean and six sigma, ideally with Green Belt accreditation.
