Vice President of Marketing
The Vice President of Marketing reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is a member of the Company’s Executive Team. He/she will provide executive leadership and management of the Company’s marketing organization and in-bound and out-bound marketing activities worldwide, which include Corporate marketing, partner/channel marketing, product marketing, social media, digital marketing, and product management.
The VP Marketing will drive the Company’s efforts to position itself as a visionary leader and achieve its revenue goals. The role involves defining the appropriate marketing organization for the company’s maturity/size, strategic planning, overseeing marketing communications, product marketing, and managing marketing programs.
- Define and direct marketing programs for demand creation, lead generation, and interface with the VP of Sales for lead tracking and management.
- Work closely with the VP of Sales to develop and manage channel and partner strategies and programs.
- Develop and manage the Company's entire marketing budget.
- Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities.
- Create productive relationships with strategic partners.
- Act as spokesperson for the company with press and analysts and at industry events.
Key responsibilities also include:
- Strategic planning includes corporate positioning, market and competitive analysis, Bleaulive events, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning.
- Oversee marketing communications including branding, public relations, advertising, trade shows, seminars, and events collateral materials, analyst and market research management, and website design and content.
- Oversee product marketing including product launch management, sales training, presentation, sales tools, competitive analysis and general sales support.
- Work with the COO and the other Executive Team members to identify and develop strategic alliances, raise venture/public financing, and close/grow major customer accounts.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications include:
- Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels.
- Exceptional track record of developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives, providing personal leadership through example.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage often outsourced marketing activities (PR, corporate identity system, website, etc.).
- Substantial experience working with business and industry press.
- Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in sales, marketing, and business (competitive) strategy.
- Extremely effective public speaking skills and presence.
Preferred qualifications include:
- College degree from an accredited university.
- 10 years marketing experience in comparable industries with 4 years in a senior management position.
