The Role
The Vice President of Operations (VPO/SVPO) is a senior leader with direct accountability for academic, operational, and financial performance across a region of campuses. This role owns student success, NCLEX performance, retention, and campus level execution, while building strong leadership teams and driving consistency through disciplined operating models.
This is a hands-on role for a decisive operator who enjoys leading through complexity, improving performance, and developing high impact leaders.
Requirements
- Own performance across multiple campuses, including NCLEX pass rates, retention, and student outcomes
- Build, assess, coach, and upgrade Campus President talent
- Establish clear ownership, operating standards, and accountability rhythms
- Diagnose underperformance and lead targeted interventions, including talent and process changes
- Use data and dashboards to identify risk early and close performance gaps
- Personally engage in struggling campuses to reset execution and leadership alignment
- Own P&L performance, including budgeting and resource allocation
- Partner with executive leadership to deliver enterprise priorities and cross functional initiatives
- Oversee campus operations, facilities, and compliance
- Resolve escalated student issues and address root causes to prevent recurrence
- Ensure regulatory compliance and uphold internal standards
- Foster a student first, mission aligned campus culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of experience, including 2+ years in upper management
- Proven success leading multi-site operations with clear accountability for outcomes
Skills
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Experience in higher education administration
- Ability to manage complex operations and budgets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in data analysis and dashboard creation

- Base salary range of $180,000 - $210,000 USD commensurate with education, experience, and relatable skills
