Vice President of Affiliate Marketing
About the role
The VP of Affiliate will serve as the visionary leader for our affiliate practice, responsible for defining the next generation of performance-based partnerships. In an era defined by AI disruption, shifting search landscapes, and the "content-to-commerce" evolution, you will be the primary architect of strategies that keep our clients ahead of the curve.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Vision & Thought Leadership
- Future-Proofing: Anticipate the impact of AI, privacy changes, and search engine evolution on the affiliate ecosystem to pivot strategies proactively.
- Category Innovation: Transition the team from traditional lower-funnel management to sophisticated, content-led, full-funnel partnership ecosystems.
- Executive Presence: Act as the face of the affiliate department both internally and externally, contributing to the agency/company’s overall strategic roadmap.
- Client Partnerships & Growth
- High-Stakes Leadership: Serve as the most senior leader on the team and with clients, ensuring their affiliate programs align with broader business objectives and long-term growth.
- Consultative Selling: Partner with the business development team to lead pitches and identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
- Financial Stewardship: Own the financial health of the affiliate department, including margin management, resource allocation, and achieving aggressive ROI targets.
- Operational Excellence & Integration
- Omni-Channel Synergy: Break down internal silos by integrating affiliate strategies with other media channels (like Paid Social, SEO, Commerce, Influencer, etc.) to create a unified performance engine.
- Tech Stack Optimization: Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and tracking solutions to ensure "best-in-class" attribution and data integrity.
- Onboarding Governance: Oversee complex account transitions, ensuring innovative frameworks are established from day one.
- Team Mentorship & Culture Leadership
- Development: Mentor, teach and elevate Affiliate talent, fostering a culture of accountability, curiosity, and high performance.
- Resource Planning: Manage departmental headcount and organizational structure to support scaling without sacrificing quality.
- Player and Coach: In addition to growing the individuals on the team you are able to dig in and aid on client work day-to-day.
Qualifications
- Experience: 15+ years in digital marketing, with at least 10 years specializing in Affiliate/Partnership marketing and a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in scaling complex, multi-million dollar affiliate programs across diverse verticals (B2C, B2B, Retail, etc.).
- Technical Mastery: Expert fluency in major affiliate networks (Impact, CJ, Rakuten, etc.) and a sophisticated understanding of multi-touch attribution models.
- Strategic Acumen: Exceptional ability to translate complex data into a compelling narrative for C-suite stakeholders.
- Inter-Agency and IAT unification: Strength in working with other teams to ensure Affiliate is an integrated channel within a media mix.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.

Pay
The annual base salary range for this roles' listed level is currently $160,000-$180,000 plus performance bonus of up to 25%.
