About the role

Provide executive leadership ensuring the highest quality physician services that are mission-based, exceptional in clinical quality, patient- and customer-focused, cost-effective, and exceed industry standards. Responsibilities include oversight and accountability for clinical services, practices, quality, financial planning, and strategic initiatives. Initiate and maintain collaborative relationships that enhance and support ongoing and anticipated clinical services.

Oversee all hospital-based physicians, including Hospitalists, Radiologists, Pathologists, Anesthesiologists, and Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for clinical services, quality, and strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee financial planning and ensure cost-effective physician services.
  • Initiate and maintain collaborative relationships to support clinical services.
  • Oversee hospital-based physicians (Hospitalists, Radiologists, Pathologists, Anesthesiologists, Emergency Medicine).
  • Develop and implement clinical practice policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Motivate staff through effective interaction and contemporary clinical operation models.
  • Travel and flexibility in scheduled hours to meet system needs.

Requirements

  • Licensed and credentialed as Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university.
  • Unrestricted license or eligible for licensure in the State of Missouri.
  • Board Certified in primary specialty.
  • Five years’ work experience in a clinical practice.
  • Two years’ experience in Medical Staff leadership, with one year as a Medical Director preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing clinical practice policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, peers, the public, and all levels of an organization.
  • Experience initiating strategic clinical practices, policies, and procedures to maximize contribution to the healthcare system’s mission and quality indicators.
  • Ability to increase knowledge of Federal, State, and Joint Commission standards.
