Vice President, Consultant Relations

About the Role
The Americas Institutional Businesses (AIB) develops and maintains relationships with sophisticated institutional investors, including pensions, universities, non-profits, family offices, healthcare systems, and other institutions across the US, Canada, and Latin America. AIB teams collaborate to deliver asset management, risk management, and advisory services tailored to clients’ investment objectives.
Global Consultant Relations (GCR) drives new business through relationships with global, national, and specialist investment consultants. The team engages with senior management, field consultants, and research teams to build conviction in BlackRock’s capabilities and position the firm as a key partner in delivering investment solutions across all asset classes.
GCR is seeking a Vice President to join the US Consultant Coverage team. This role focuses on developing and executing strategic relationships with investment consultants to align BlackRock’s full suite of investment capabilities with consultant and client needs.
Responsibilities
- Achieve sales goals by aligning consultant needs and client opportunities with BlackRock’s capabilities.
- Build deep, influential relationships with consultants through access and engagement.
- Drive coverage of field consultants and senior leadership, advance the research agenda, and oversee servicing for the assigned coverage universe.
- Partner with investment and client teams to drive new business and maintain existing relationships.
- Guide and contribute to the career development of other team members.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of the institutional investment marketplace.
- 5+ years of experience working with consultants and/or institutional clients.
- Experience with various institutional client types (e.g., Pension, Taft-Hartley, Endowments, Foundations, Healthcare, Wealth).
- BA/BS degree, preferably in a related field.
- Possess, or willingness to obtain, Series 7 and 63 licenses.
- Effective team player; able to collaborate with people at all levels.
- High level of self-motivation, strong integrity, and ethical standards.
Pay
For San Francisco, CA, the salary range for this position is USD $150,000.00 – USD $200,000.00. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits, including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates on a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy, and total compensation may vary based on role, location, firm, department, and individual performance.

Schedule
BlackRock’s hybrid work model requires employees to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more in-office time based on their roles and responsibilities. New joiners can expect this hybrid model to accelerate learning and onboarding.
