About the role

The Institution for Savings is seeking a Vice President of Commercial Lending who will be responsible for cultivating, underwriting and closing commercial loans, as well as maintaining and servicing a robust commercial loan portfolio. This person will report to and work closely with the Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending/Senior Commercial Lender.

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing portfolio relationships and new loan production.
  • Collect and analyze financial and related data to determine general creditworthiness, including credit reports, background checks, reference checks and other information; as needed, submits applications to credit analysts for verifications and recommendations.
  • Compiles loan packages and facilitates negotiation of loan structures with applicants.
  • Recommends approval or declination of loans within established Bank policies and informs prospective borrower of decision; refers to loan committee for approval as appropriate.
  • Ensures loan agreements are complete, and that loan closings and funding occurs in a timely manner.
  • Identifies and develops new commercial loan relationships within the Bank’s market.
  • Promotes and cross-sells other Bank products and services as appropriate.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and goal oriented.
  • Utilizes strong organizational skills to perform and prioritize a high volume of tasks simultaneously.
  • Consistently achieves goals and meets strict deadlines while maintaining excellent attention to context, substance and detail.
  • Embraces a team-oriented culture and works collaboratively across the Bank to support the Bank’s strategic growth plans.
