About the role
This position works under minimal supervision to secure new brokerage assignments and generate new revenue channels. The role is responsible for facilitating and brokering the full scope of real estate transactions, from formation to closing. You will acquire, maintain, and represent buyers, sellers, building owners, and tenants while managing their portfolio or rental properties.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients in finding suitable non-residential properties to run their business from.
- Assist sellers in promoting their properties to attract qualified buyers in a reasonable amount of time.
- Provide guidance on agreements, mortgages, and market prices.
- Assist with negotiations between buyers and sellers.
- Coordinate exchanges of ownership.
- Fulfill a range of marketing functions, such as promoting properties by listing, writing advertisements, or arranging viewings.
- Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner.
- Participate in networking events and occasional workshops to expand reputation in the brokerage market.
- Manage listings and existing client relationships.
- Draft legal contracts and documents relating to real estate transactions.
- Manage a portfolio of rental properties.
- Perform office and administrative work as needed.
Requirements
- Active Real Estate License.
- Driver’s License required; ability to drive to and from client and Avison Young offices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to respond to emails and adapt to new technology, systems, and processes.
- Ability to communicate with clients and comprehend their requests.
- Ability to maintain a stationary position on a frequent basis.
- Ability to travel for deal leads, networking, and workshops as necessary (50% or more travel required).
