Vice President/Associate – CLO Structuring

About the role

The role sits within the CLO Structuring team responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) Warehouses and CLO Primary transactions for corporate and institutional clients. This position provides support to the CLO Structuring team, requiring experience in CLO structuring and documentation, with the ability to manage deals independently from early stages of formation through closing.

Tasks include working closely with portfolio managers and equity investors to structure CLOs, assisting with deal documents, interacting with rating agencies, attorneys (internal and/or external), and various internal channels. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to lead as deal captain in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, managing multiple tasks with minimal direction. Strong quantitative and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key participant in the CLO structuring process of a CLO primary transaction, managing all parts of the structuring process.
  • Interact closely with collateral managers, equity and debt investors, and all relevant players in a transaction.
  • Familiar with rating agency methodologies and able to negotiate transaction documents with them.
  • Think outside the box and deliver exceptional service and strategic solutions.
  • Spearhead the creation of marketing materials for clients/investors the firm is working with.
  • Mentor junior members of the team and invest highly in their growth.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • At least 5 years of CLO structuring experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of CLO documentation (Indentures, Offering Memorandums, etc.), CLO modeling tools, and Intex.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency in computer languages/programming (VBA primarily) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.

FINRA registrations required: SIE, Series 7, and 63 licenses will need to be obtained within a reasonable amount of time.

Pay

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $225,000 to $235,000 at the Vice President level and $150,000 to $200,000 at the Associate level annually. The actual salary may vary based on relevant skills, experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
