About the role

Bid and offer Agency Mortgage-Backed Securities ("MBS") specified pools from origination and secondary lists. Focus on market making, marking, and risk management of the organization’s Specified Pools book/portfolio. Work with internal sales team and external clients to understand clients' investment objectives & provide liquidity. Work with internal trading team to optimize execution of client queries in structured products & hedging risk. Maintain market color database for specified pools trading so as to have a clean and reliable record of market activity. Evaluate different hedging strategies for the books based on interest rates and mortgage basis performance. Maintain open communication with the team and line management to resolve any risk or P&L discrepancies. Contribute to closing marks and work with middle office to confirm daily profit and loss ("P&L") at the end of the day. Work with internal counterparts in risk, quant and technology to help tackle the needs of the business. Travel and meet with clients to gather market color and present ideas. Attend relevant regulatory and product/skill training and keep up to date with market issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (US or Foreign Equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Applied Finance, or related and five (5) years of experience in front office/quant/trading capacity OR Master's degree (US or Foreign Equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Applied Finance, or related and three (3) years of experience in front office/quant/trading capacity.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience with: Analytical & Pricing Tools in Excel and Python/code; and collaborating with internal counterparts to grow business.
  • Must have one (1) year of experience with: Risk management, modeling & hedging; Analytical & interpersonal skills; and Knowledge of MBS & other fixed income products.

Qualifications

Pay

$147,202.00 to $265,000.00 / year

Schedule

9am to 5pm, 40 hours a week. (Monday – Friday)
