Vice President, 1LoD Risk and Controls

About the role

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, 1LoD Risk Controls Specialist to join our Payments Enablement team. This role is located in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality RCSA execution, including risk identification, control mapping, assessment, and documentation
• Provide coordination and execution of issue management, ORE management, new product approvals, business process change, and control telemetry for the Platform, continuously identifying opportunities for improvement and leading optimization efforts
• Monitor and report the status of 1RC program deliverables, proactively identifying and solutioning for challenges/blockers, and analyze trends and repeat issues identified; integrating outcomes into reporting
• Identify, challenge, and escalate asks and initiatives that go beyond the scope of 1RC program responsibilities
• Champion the root cause, remediation and reporting of key incidents, issues management, controls assessments, issues as relevant to the Platform

Requirements

• 5-10 Years of total work experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of operational risk frameworks, including RCSA, EBCA, and RCAT
• Experience in issue management, root cause analysis, ORE management, and scenario analytics
• Understanding of control design, control mapping, and control testing
• Ability to interpret KRI and telemetry data effectively
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities
• Effective risk communication skills
• Professional skepticism and ability to provide credible challenge
• Ability to collaborate across 1LoD, 2LoD, and 3LoD teams
• Demonstrated ownership and proactive escalation mindset
• Adaptability in evolving risk environments
