Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to Internal Medicine patients throughout diagnostics, treatment, hospitalization, and recovery.
- Assist Internal Medicine veterinarians with appointments, examinations, diagnostics, and procedures.
- Perform essential Veterinary Technician skills including patient restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
- Assist with anesthesia and patient preparation for procedures as needed.
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples and operate laboratory equipment according to hospital protocols.
- Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the medical team.
- Assist with advanced diagnostic procedures including ultrasound, CT, fluoroscopy, MRI, and digital radiography as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, Veterinary Technicians, veterinarians, and other hospital team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment.
- Follow hospital safety protocols and established standards of patient care.
- Support a collaborative team environment focused on mentorship, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Internal Medicine service.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician
- Specialty veterinary experience preferred
- LVT certification preferred
- Strong understanding of veterinary nursing fundamentals, including patient restraint, phlebotomy, anesthesia, laboratory equipment, and laboratory procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and responsive in a fast-paced specialty environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, and other hospital team members
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and exceptional client service
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are a plus
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required

$25–$35/hour based on experience and skill level
