Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans and hands-on lab demonstrations aligned with the established veterinary nursing curriculum.
- Monitor lab competencies and confirm student skill levels using standardized checklists.
- Evaluate student performance and maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught.
- Track student attendance and coordinate with leadership regarding absences.
- Mentor students through academic challenges and provide targeted intervention and support.
- Maintain accurate student grades and records per established policies.
- Cook up guest speakers, field trips, and visits to veterinary clinics to enrich the student experience.
- Enforce safety protocols and monitor classroom and lab environments to ensure a safe learning experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Current credential as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT).
- Associate degree from an AVMA CVTEA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
- Minimum 3 years of practical veterinary technician experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to demonstrate veterinary procedures and patient restraint techniques.
