Job Summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an experienced Part-Time Veterinary Technician to join our team in North Dallas, TX. This role offers an exciting, fast-paced opportunity to utilize skills gained and expand them under the guidance of talented veterinary professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients
  • Use anesthesia/monitoring equipment
  • Triage emergency cases, obtaining vitals like temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure
  • Perform digital radiography with proper technique
  • Understand and interpret normal patient vital sign ranges, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
  • Calculate medical math (constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration
  • Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters
  • Mentor and train other co-workers
  • Address client concerns with patience and empathy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or related field
  • Current license to practice as a Veterinary Technician in Texas
  • Experience in emergency veterinary settings preferred
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passionate about pets and animal care
