Job Summary
BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an experienced Part-Time Veterinary Technician to join our team in North Dallas, TX. This role offers an exciting, fast-paced opportunity to utilize skills gained and expand them under the guidance of talented veterinary professionals.
Responsibilities
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients
- Use anesthesia/monitoring equipment
- Triage emergency cases, obtaining vitals like temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure
- Perform digital radiography with proper technique
- Understand and interpret normal patient vital sign ranges, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
- Calculate medical math (constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration
- Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels
- Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters
- Mentor and train other co-workers
- Address client concerns with patience and empathy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or related field
- Current license to practice as a Veterinary Technician in Texas
- Experience in emergency veterinary settings preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passionate about pets and animal care
