Veterinary Technician

Registered Veterinary Technician – Surgery Lead/Supervisor (Full-Time) in Denver, CO. $1,500 sign-on bonus.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced RVT who is ready to take a leadership role in our surgery department while remaining an active, hands-on member of our medical team. As Surgery Lead/Supervisor, you'll help set the standard for surgical patient care, maintain consistency in our surgical protocols and workflows, and provide ongoing training and mentorship to the surgery team. You'll work closely with our DVM team and hospital leadership to keep medical standards, communication, and team expectations aligned.

This is a hands-on leadership role within a collaborative, team-based hospital. You’ll spend a significant amount of time in surgery, working alongside and developing your team, but your responsibilities won’t stop at the surgery doors. As a smaller hospital, we all contribute across the practice—whether that means running rooms, supporting another department, or stepping in wherever the team needs you. Surgical responsibilities will vary with hospital needs, and some shifts may be spent entirely outside of surgery.

Responsibilities

• Set the standard for surgical patient care
• Maintain consistency in surgical protocols and workflows
• Provide ongoing training and mentorship to the surgery team
• Collaborate with DVM team and hospital leadership
• Hands-on surgical nursing, anesthesia monitoring, patient monitoring, and recovery
• Perform ultrasonic scaling, polishing, and dental radiology
• Contribute across the practice as needed (e.g., running rooms, supporting other departments)

Requirements

• Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license
• Strong, recent hands-on experience in surgery, anesthesia, and dentistry
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience developing veterinary team members and a genuine desire to teach and mentor
• Willingness to jump in wherever needed
• Strong sense of medical responsibility, safety, and patient advocacy
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to gold-standard patient care

Pay

$35-$37/hour, dependent on surgical and leadership experience.

Schedule

• Full-time, four 10-hour shifts
• Schedule will flex based on hospital needs and may include a rotating late shift (9:30 AM–8:30 PM) and/or rotating Saturdays (every other week) as needed
• Occasional schedule adjustments may be necessary to support surgical volume and overall hospital coverage
