Stratford Hills Veterinary Center is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant for a full-time position with a flexible schedule and rotating weekend shifts.

Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
- Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant clinical information
- Safely handle and restrain patients during examinations and procedures
- Utilize Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques to promote patient comfort and safety
- Administer oral, topical, and subcutaneous medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Assist with preventive and urgent patient care
- Perform laboratory testing on biological samples, including blood and urine
- Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
- Obtain diagnostic radiographs using proper positioning and radiographic techniques
- Assist with routine surgical procedures and patient preparation
- Support dental procedures, including dental radiography and cleanings
- Assist with laser therapy and other patient treatments
- Monitor patients and communicate changes in condition to the medical team
- Maintain accurate and detailed digital medical records
- Educate clients about medications, preventives, treatments, and veterinarian recommendations
- Maintain clean, organized, stocked, and efficient patient-care areas
- Collaborate with teammates to maintain an efficient daily workflow
- Jump in wherever needed to support patients, clients, and coworkers
Qualifications
- Previous hands-on veterinary experience
- Licensed Veterinary Technicians and experienced Veterinary Assistants are encouraged to apply
- Strong patient handling and restraint skills
- Experience assisting with examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
- Ability to administer oral, topical, and subcutaneous medications and vaccines as directed
- A strong understanding of commonly used veterinary medications and preventives
- Experience performing laboratory testing on blood, urine, and other biological samples
- Knowledge of proper radiographic positioning and technique
- Comfort maintaining accurate digital medical records
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A caring and compassionate approach to patients and clients
- Dependability, reliability, and punctuality
- A collaborative, team-first mindset
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment
- A willingness to ask questions and continue developing professionally
- The ability to lift at least 40 pounds and remain active and on your feet for extended periods

Fear Free certification and familiarity with Avimark practice-management software are beneficial but not required. We will prioritize candidates with previous veterinary experience.
