Veterinary Technician/ Assistant

Epic Tails Veterinary Clinic is hiring two full-time Veterinary Technicians or Assistants. About the role

All staff rotate through front and back of house, taking ownership of their strengths while supporting veterinarians in procedures, exams, and daily operations. We encourage growth through education and technical development, ensuring a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Low-stress and fear-free restraint and handling of cats, dogs, and small mammals (birds a plus)
• Lab work, radiograph positioning and safety, injections (SQ, IV, IM), IV catheter placement, and medication dispensing
• Medical record maintenance and hospital cleanliness/stocking
• Anesthesia monitoring and administration (training available for motivated learners)
• Client communication, education, conflict resolution, phone support, and payment processing
• Monitoring patient conditions and alerting veterinarians to changes
• Supporting veterinarians during procedures and appointments

Requirements

• Experience with restraint, lab work, radiography, and basic medical procedures
• Strong client communication and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments
• Interest in expanding skills and learning new techniques
• Commitment to treating clients and patients as individuals

Pay

$19.00–$23.00 per hour, based on skills, experience, and qualifications (negotiable for the right candidate).

Schedule

Full-time, typically four 10-hour shifts per week, including every other Saturday (8:00 AM–1:00 PM) with a half-day off during the week. Example schedule:

• Tuesday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Wednesday: 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
