Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare individualized anesthesia protocols in collaboration with a veterinary anesthesiologist and other specialists.
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia, using advanced equipment to track vital signs, depth of anesthesia, and patient comfort.
  • Assist during surgical and diagnostic procedures, anticipating the needs of the veterinary team and adapting to rapid changes in patient status.
  • Manage perioperative pain control, administering medications and monitoring pain levels to ensure patient comfort.
  • Help maintain accurate records of anesthesia protocols, drug usage, and patient responses to ensure consistent and informed care.
  • Maintain a calm, organized workspace, ensuring quick access to necessary supplies and troubleshooting equipment as needed.
  • Engage in continuing education and case discussions, keeping abreast of the latest anesthesia protocols, monitoring techniques, and best practices.

Requirements

  • CVT/LVT/RVT licensure preferred
  • Anesthesia experience required
  • Solid understanding of veterinary medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
  • Strong communication skills for client education and team collaboration
  • Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient and client care

Schedule

This is a full-time position with the following schedule: four 10-hour shifts with one weekend day per month.

Pay

$22-26/hour, commensurate with experience and licensure.
