About the role

The role of the Veterinary Surgical Oncologist at Colorado Animal Specialty & Emergency (CASE) involves providing advanced oncologic surgical care for companion animals. They serve as a core member of a multidisciplinary oncology team, collaborating closely with medical and radiation oncology. They participate in shared case planning, tumor boards, journal club, and longitudinal patient management. They work alongside experienced anesthesia, critical care, and emergency teams to support complex peri-operative patients. They contribute to the continued growth and evolution of the Pet Cancer Center.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced oncologic surgical care for companion animals
  • Serve as a core member of a multidisciplinary oncology team, collaborating closely with medical and radiation oncology
  • Participate in shared case planning, tumor boards, journal club, and longitudinal patient management
  • Work alongside experienced anesthesia, critical care, and emergency teams to support complex peri-operative patients
  • Contribute to the continued growth and evolution of the Pet Cancer Center

Requirements

  • Board-certified in veterinary surgery and oncology
  • Experience in surgical oncology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
  • Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Colorado
  • Passing score on the AVMA Canine and Feline Surgery Exam

Pay

A competitive salary range of $235,000–$325,000, commensurate with experience.
