Veterinary Oncologist

About the role

The Oncology service at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Birmingham, AL is currently referral-only and supported by the Internal Medicine team. This position is an excellent opportunity to build and shape the Oncology service in a supportive, collaborative, and team-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive oncology care including diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancer cases
• Collaborate with the Internal Medicine team to ensure multidisciplinary case support
• Support the development and expansion of Emergency Services
• Contribute to the growth and success of the Oncology service

Requirements

• Boarded or residency-trained in Veterinary Oncology
• Experience in providing comprehensive oncology care
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a team environment

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Alabama
• Passing score on the AVMA accreditation exam for Veterinary Oncologists

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to oncology
